Empties - May 2015

Okay, I've been hoarding empties for a long time now so get ready for a long blog post!

Handelshuset Källan shampoo bars.
I've been using these two shampoo bars for several months now and I've still not completely used up either of them. That is one of the things I really like about using shampoo bars, I don't have to repurchase them all the time.

I will probably not repurchase the rhassoul one, since I am not too keen on the scent and I prefer using plain rhassoul clay if anything. The other one however, I love! It has tar in it, which is really great for dry scalps and psoriasis. I don't have psoriasis, but my scalp tends to get really dry during the winter, and this has certainly helped.

It may not be for you if you don't like the smell of tar, but as I love the smell I very much enjoy using it. (It smells excactly like Laphroaig whisky, haha!)

Pure Thoughts Winter Wonderland soap*.
This soap is great and smells sooo good! It doesn't dry out my hands at all, so I really want to try more of the scents in the future.

Lyonsleaf soap with goats milk, manuka honey and calendula*.
This soap is, if possible, even more gentle than the Pure Thoughts one. It is also non-scented, so it will be great for people who are sensitive to scents. It does, however, not seem to be as long lasting as many other soaps. A big chunk of it seems to already be gone and I've only used it about a week.

Maria Åkerberg shampoo and face wash samples.
These were instantly discarded since they both contain SCS (Sodium Coco-sulfate) which does my skin no favours.

Clean Cauldron whipped body butter samples in blood orange and cedarwood.
I really, really like these body butters and will probably repurchase them in the future, but for now I have another one that I am going to try out. The blood orange scent is delicious!

Clean Cauldron lip lusters in Mystic and Purity.
The one in mystic is not all the way used up, but it has started to smell bad so I need to throw it away. I am also not a big fan of the colour on me.
The Purity is all used up, and I have another one that I am using right now!

Sephora lipstick.
These are some of my last non-natural makeup items that I have yet to throw away. They are both in the same colour, which I love. They do have some sentimental value to me (crazy as that sounds), but I've finally been able to give them up.

UNE Green Pride volume mascara.
This is probably the best mascara I have ever tried, and I am so sad to see it go. I will not repurchase though, as they to my knowledge are not cruelty free.

Silk Naturals cream eyeliner in Film Noir sample.
I have tried and tested this sample for some time but now it is all dried up and I can't get any more use out of it. I will probably not get the full size though, since I seem to work better with pencil or liquid eyeliner.

Weleda Almond Cleansing Lotion and Facial Cream.
These two were my long time friends before I met Bodhi & Birch. The cleanser is really gentle on the skin but it doesn't cleanse as well as I would like it to, so I will not repurchase. The Facial Cream on the other hand is really great, and I would consider buying it again if Weleda hadn't recently made their way onto Logical Harmony's list of brands to avoid.

Suti Nourish Face Oil and Fabolous Foot Balm* sample.
The face oil is amazing and life changing. Seriously. I was given the full size for Christmas and I cherish every drop.
The foot balm is...good. I guess. To be honest I don't really see a reason to spend money on a balm specifically for feet, but it smells really good and fresh.

Pulpe de Vie Shimmering Body Milk* sample.
I did not like this at all. I didn't care fot the scent, it left me feeling sticky and the shimmer looked more like glitter to me. Thanks, but I'd rather not look like I was going to a 90's school disco. (Body glitter was never my thing, even when I was 8 years old.)

Lulu & Boo Lavender and Bergamot Body Milk* sample.
I was very pleasantly surprised by this. Body milks tend to not work for me, but this left my skin all mosturised and nice. I would have looked into getting a full size, but it does contain phenoxyethanol, which I try to avoid.

*PR samples are marked with an asterisk.

Phew, did you make it through? Good, give yourself a pat on the shoulder and please accept this virtual high-five!
